The Scorecard: Stellar Achievements in Each Class
At Right Step, we believe that innovation is the key to creating a nurturing and enriching environment for our little ones. As a part of our #coolschool initiative, our bi-monthly calls are one such innovation designed to foster open communication and build strong partnerships with our fantastic parents and guardians. Your valuable feedback and involvement have truly set the bar high, and we couldn’t be more grateful!
Our innovative bimonthly calls have provided us with heartwarming scores that fill us with immense pride. Let’s take a moment to celebrate the brilliance of our little stars:

Nursery and PG A: Average Score – 8.8
Nursery and PG B: Average Score – 9.5
LKG A: Average Score – 9.4
LKG B: Average Score – 9.6

Addressing the Most Suggested Corrections:

      1. Requested more communication and verbal development in the English language (nursery).
        Response:
Your valuable feedback is the driving force behind our actions. To enhance English language skills, we’ve thoughtfully included a set of sentences, words, and enchanting stories to inculcate new vocabulary during engaging storytelling sessions!

      1. My child is not able to tell his school’s name (nursery).
        Response:
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Starting from the third week of August, self-introduction will be an integral part of our daily class routine, ensuring each child confidently announces their school’s name with pride!

      1. Kids struggling to write properly and not conveying school happenings at home.
Response: We understand that writing can be challenging for our young learners. To assist their progress, we’ve introduced activities to enhance their pincer grasp. Moreover, we’re thrilled to introduce a “clay play time” as part of the curriculum, fostering both creativity and fine motor skills!

It is also very common for toddlers to deny opening up to their parents. Introduce the routine of sharing about the day at a specific time of the day like dinner time. Tell your child how your day went at the office, but do not ask them about their day in return. They will gradually, but definitely start catching up and sharing about their day once they understand the concept of the routine. To boost up the process, we will also encourage our little students to share the school happenings at home.

      1. Facing difficulty in writing certain Tamil alphabets (UKG).
        Response:
Tamil alphabet can be hard, but worry not! We suggest starting homework in Tamil to boost familiarity. As a corrective action, we’re introducing Tamil alphabet tracing wooden boards, making learning a joyful experience!

      1. My child is not writing numbers in order (UKG).
        Response:
It’s completely natural for children to find their unique writing style. As long as they can write the numbers, their growth is on the right track! Soon, you’ll witness them masterfully identifying numbers and writing them in order like a pro!

    Honouring Your Requests:

        1. Requested homework (from LKG).
          Response:
We greatly value your input! Homework will be thoughtfully integrated into our curriculum from term 2, ensuring an optimal balance between learning at school and home.

        1. Requested worksheets to practice at home (Nursery).
          Response:
Your support in your child’s academic journey is truly appreciated! While we maintain a “no homework” policy for kids under 4, our team will be thrilled to provide you with a daily routine plan that will nurture their learning journey without the need for worksheets! Don’t feel shy to ask for it!

        1. Request to be strict during snack time.
          Response:
We believe in creating a joyful and stress-free environment. Embracing positive reinforcement through stories and pretend plays, we will encourage good behaviour during snack time, ensuring our little ones feel safe, loved, and happy throughout their day!

      Our favourite suggestions:

          1. “The themes are repetitive. My child is learning the same themes she learned in the previous year.”
            Response:
We understand the importance of thematic learning and its role in fostering academic knowledge and social awareness. While some themes may indeed remain consistent, the depth and complexity vary as our students progress through different classes. Let’s take the theme “animals” as an example:

Playgroup: Little learners explore the vibrant colors of animals, sparking their curiosity about the animal kingdom.

Nursery: Students delve into the world of domestic and wild animals, fostering their understanding of diverse animal habitats.

            LKG:
Discovering the world of animal calls, children learn to mimic and identify the unique sounds each animal makes.

            UKG:
Understanding the interconnectedness of the ecosystem, kids learn the vital role animals play in maintaining ecological balance and gain spelling skills too!
With these varying levels of exploration, we ensure a holistic and comprehensive learning experience, setting the foundation for their bright futures!

          1. A parent strongly denied giving the ratings over the call.
Response: We’re extremely grateful for this parent’s candid feedback, which has been a guiding light on our journey of growth. We cherish constructive input, as it propels us towards achieving our goals with greater clarity!
Regarding our request for ratings during calls, we want to clarify our intentions. Understanding where we stand helps us assess our performance and identify areas where we can enhance our efforts. To ensure transparency and avoid any manipulation, we decided not to put the scoring option as a poll in the group. In some cases, a parent might want to give a lower score, but upon seeing that the majority of parents are giving higher scores, they might feel hesitant to give the score they actually intended to give. As a result, they may end up giving a higher score than they initially intended. This could lead to a potential bias in the overall scores, which we aim to avoid to ensure the feedback remains transparent and unbiased. To improve transparency in announcing the scores, we have decided to share the given scores in each class’s groups immediately after the call session ends

        Conclusion:
At Right Step Preschool, the biggest preschool in Tambaram, your trust and involvement form the heart of our vibrant learning community. Your feedback has illuminated our path toward growth and excellence, and we’re deeply grateful for your unwavering support. As we celebrate our achievements and address your suggestions with enthusiasm, let’s continue to create an atmosphere where love, learning, and laughter flourish in harmony. Together, we’ll shape the brightest futures for our precious children, empowering them to take those right steps toward a brilliant tomorrow!
